Immaculata University was founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1920 and thrives on the values of faith, community, knowledge, virtue, and service. One hundred and four years later, those values are still held true through all aspects of the campus, especially campus ministry.
When you walk into the office of campus ministry, you are greeted with warmth and a sense of belonging. It is a place where you can find your purpose, friends, and ways to keep your mind constantly flowing and learning new things.
There are so many ways to get involved in campus ministry. They do various activities throughout the year that engage with a wide variety of students from different backgrounds, all on the same journey to serve God and their community.
I recently visited campus ministry, witnessing community and faith in action. To my surprise, there were students talking, playing games, and spreading the word of God in what they do. I noticed posters on the wall that shared activities they planned for the future or had done previously.
One event that I personally witnessed was the trick-or-treat for the IHM sisters in Camilla Hall. I remember sitting in my room doing homework, when all of a sudden, I see people in all sorts of costumes walking around campus and then past my dorm room. Students were dressed as Winnie the Pooh, a schoolgirl, and other characters, all with the purpose of spending time with the IHM Sisters at Camilla Hall and giving back to them for everything they have done for us and the community.

Campus ministry also hosts weekly community nights that are often a hit with the students. The activity varies depending on the week, but typically it is something that allows us, the community, to get a taste of what campus ministry is. One very popular community night was the Phillies night in September. It was a great time to watch some baseball, eat classic ballpark food like hot dogs and peanuts, and connect with a community that you might not have had an opportunity to engage with before.
These are just a couple of ways that campus ministry has consistently remained an integral part of the Immaculata University community. Through this organization, they showcase the core values of Immaculata and continue to be the heartbeat of the campus community.
The campus ministry staff welcomes all students. Stop by their offices (located under the Great Hall—with an outside entrance) to learn more.
