The big release of the final trailer of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has sparked a fan frenzy. Fans were transported back to the beloved “galaxy far, far away” on October 21 during the New England Patriots vs New York Jets football game. The new trailer premiered during half-time to rally the fans for the upcoming final movie which is set to hit trailers on December 20. At the same time, ticket sales were officially lunched for the midnight holiday premier of the film.
Fans of the Star War saga have long waited with anticipation for the final trailer and were shocked by the groundbreaking events. Lusasfilm did not disappointment by causing fans to question certain parts of the trailer. Is the dreaded Emperor Palpatine back? Will Rey turn to the dark side? Is C-3PO too damaged to continue? This last epic Star Wars battle is possibly hinting at a tragic conclusion.
The final trailer gives fans a brief look at the thrilling lightsaber battle between the hero Rye and the villain Kylo Ren. A heartbreaking scene with Rey and Princess Leia which is past footage of Carrie Fisher before her unexpected passing in 2016. An emotional scene that suggests that C-3PO is going to leave the galaxy. A first appearance in the new trilogy of the original cast member Billy Dee Williams who played Lando Calrissian. And a chilling voiceover of the villainous Emperor Palpatine returning to destroy the rebellion.
This is a highly anticipation movie after the major flunk of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Fans are expecting some serious correcting for there were upsetting issues in the last film. The destruction of Luke Skywalker’s legacy left fans questioning the writers of the trilogy and if the final movie will be ruined.
However, fans have a lot to be excited for with the introduction of the Disney+ live-action series called The Mandaalorian and the coming soon series called Obi-Wan Kenobi. Also, the grand opening of Disney World and Disneyland’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is where fans can fly the Millennium Falcon and fight with the rebellion.
The final trailer provides hope but also mystery for fans are left asking more questions. However, fans can hardly wait for December 20th.
