“This is the most talented team we have had in the last few years, there is a good balance of young talent and seasoned veterans. Fall baseball is such a great thing for the coaches because it gives us a chance to evaluate players and see what they can do on the field from a talent standpoint. It is also even more beneficial because it gives us a chance to communicate with the players at the end of the fall and let them know what areas in their game they need to work on throughout the off season so when they arrive back on campus in January, they can hit the ground running once spring practices start” commented Coach Schneider.
The Immaculata coaching staff has grown as well. With the retirement of 10-year head assistant coach Keith Curley who had been in the program since the start of it in 2010. Coach Schneider knew that he had to bring in a core group of good young coaches to fill those shoes. Bringing in new assistant/strength coach John McGarvey. Hitting coach Xen Penny and head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator John Merkh. The Macs finished the 2019 season at 6-6 in the conference with a 22-17 overall record. The Macs are looking improve to even bigger heights this season. As a guy who has been in the program for four years, I can say that this is easily the most motivated group of players we have ever had. It is a great time to be an Immaculata Baseball player.
